About

Armed with a contagious laugh and big hair, people are naturally attracted to Alisha’s infectious personality, while her life story draws people from all walks of life comforted by her southern charm and class. Born and raised in Decatur, Georgia, Alisha takes her life experiences to converge upon life with purpose.

Conquering depression, poverty, and an abusive relationship, Alisha has overcome through her transparent testimony of self-destruction, rebuilding, and redemption. The road to redemption hasn’t been easy; single motherhood became her badge of honor after leaving college; her dreams of becoming a journalist in New York City were put on hold as she conquered motherhood and abuse at the hands of her daughter’s father. In a desperate prayer at the altar of her church, Alisha begged for God to remove him from her life. It would be 3 years before she would see him again.

It was from this place that Alisha would begin writing her first book, Pieces: Finding the Missing Piece is Easier than You Think that would take her experiences into a written guide for single mothers to conquer the social ills, the self-inflicted setbacks, and the glorious ways God can use even the most imperfect people to bring glory to Him.
Alisha has developed into a prolific writer, speaker, and teacher. Her passion for God and reaching people through words has proven to be her safe-way from a life of turmoil  to a life of victory. Her Christian Living blog, Finding the Pieces has drawn in thousands to learn how to make God real, tangible, and accessible by applying the Word of God to the real world.

Alisha obtained her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English from the prestigious Spelman College and her Master’s of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix. She is the mother of a beautiful daughter, Ashli.
